The Singapore supplements brand competes in a crowded wellness market where global retailers - Amazon & iherb, medical publishers ( Govt & Hospitals) and established supplement brands ( LAC & GNC) dominate health-related searches.

The commercial opportunity was clear: improve discovery among consumers actively researching relevant health concerns, then help them move naturally from education to appropriate product information.

The challenge was to achieve this responsibly. In a trust-sensitive category, search visibility cannot be bought with paid media. Katalysts therefore designed a programme that connected technical SEO, evidence-informed content and stronger on-site journeys to measurable e-commerce outcomes.

The Two Fold Challenge in Marketing Supplements

  1. Visibility: The brand needed to build authority against much larger, better-established competitors ranging from Shopee and Amazon to Guardian & Watsons and niche healthcare brands such as LAC, GNC and iherb. Educational content, clinical information and product pages existed at different points in the customer journey, but they needed to work as one connected acquisition system.

  2. Sales: Success would not be judged by rankings or traffic alone. The programme needed to attract relevant visitors, improve product discovery and show whether organic search was contributing meaningfully to transactions and revenue.

The Katalysts marketing approach

1. Build topical authority around real consumer needs

We organised the content programme around six commercially relevant themes related to their products. This gave search engines and readers a clearer view of the brand's areas of expertise while creating multiple entry points for non-branded discovery.

2. Connect education to product discovery

Health articles and clinical-study content were linked more deliberately to relevant product pages. The goal was not to force a sale from every visit, but to make the next useful step obvious when a reader wanted to explore a suitable solution.

3. Strengthen the search foundation

Technical SEO, on-page optimisation, structured data and clearer keyword-to-page ownership helped reduce ambiguity across the site. Each priority page was given a more distinct search purpose, supporting stronger indexing, relevance and measurement.

4. Build trust and authority

Evidence-informed content and strategic link building were used to strengthen credibility in high-trust search results. Content was developed to answer the questions consumers ask before they are ready to evaluate a supplement, while maintaining appropriate health-claims discipline.

The Results

Organic Search became the brand's strongest commercial channel

Metric

Commercial significance

Revenue

51.7% of all reported ecommerce revenue

Transactions

51.6% of all reported transactions

Website traffic

29.0% of total website sessions

Revenue efficiency

12.1x the combined paid-channel result

Transaction efficiency

7.7x the combined paid-channel result

Commercial takeaway  Educational SEO helped the brand reach consumers while they were researching health concerns, support relevant product discovery and generate a disproportionately large share of ecommerce sales without relying solely on paid acquisition.

Success in a highly regulated Category

In regulated and trust-sensitive categories, SEO & GEO can do more than increase visits. For this Singapore supplements brand, organic visitors represented less than half of website sessions but contributed more than half of reported transactions and ecommerce revenue - showing what becomes possible when technical foundations, evidence-informed content and product journeys reinforce one another.
